I am not "in-network" with BCBS.
Unfortunately BCBS pays in-network licensed professional counselors at a very low rate, much lower than my cost of doing business. However, I am very flexible in working with BCBS folks in covering the annual deductible. (The deductible for families associated with Baylor is $700, but not all the BCBS plans in the area are the same. I recommend you call BCBS to double check your deductible and your copay.)
After the deductible is met the copay to work with an out-of-network provider is $20. What I typically do is charge a straight $40-$50/session so that the deductible gets covered a little bit at a time.
Because BCBS does not cover my full fee ($115), I can supposedly charge the difference to the client, which I don't do.
